Introduction

Who is the Anti-christ?

The theme of this site is intriguing to many as we find a horrific looking beast at the top of the page and underneath that of a sinister looking man. But are either of these Biblical as these are the expectations of the majority in the world today. For example: Since some are aware that the antichrist is synonymous with the first beast of Revelation chapter 13, then they often envisage this beast as something terrifying. While others due to perpetuated rumours are expecting a man or woman in a position of power, some high profile person such as a celebrity, or just some sinister looking character who will oppose Christ and hence be referred to as the antichrist.

Every time a new president is elected we rapidly find the internet rampant with new web sites claiming it is him. Many exhorted it was George Bush for as long as he was in power but no sooner was Barack Obama elected when new sites emerged declaring it was now him. This is not sound theology by any means and can only be called speculative and is displeasing to God. 2 Peter 1:20 states that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation, meaning we are not to speculate with our own personal ideas but are to rely entirely on what scripture tells us supported by history when necessary.

When it comes to the beast, the first thought of the majority is something fearsome and so most people typically envisage Satan as the beast. But Revelation 20:10 states that the devil who deceived them will be thrown into the lake of fire along with the beast and the false prophet. So Satan and the beast are identified as separate entities in this verse which rules out the devil being the beast. Keep in mind that Satan was created as a beautiful archangel and his name Lucifer means light bearer.

A large percentage of the book of Revelation is found in the Old Testament and is the key to the symbolism used in Revelation and hence this is where we need to look to find the answers. Daniel chapter 7 for instance is where we can find what a beast represents in scripture and also unlocks Revelation 13 and the identity of the first beast, which in turn also identifies antichrist.

Antichrist and the beast

Daniel 7:17 and 23 inform us that a beast in Bible prophecy represents a king or kingdom just as many animals are used to represent a nation today. So a beast in scripture actually means a beast as in the animal variety. So while theories like some super computer, Osama bin Laden or Barack Obama being the beast may titillate, they totally lack Biblical substance.

Many are also surprised to find that the word “antichrist” is not found in the book of Revelation and that it only occurs five times in four verses in first and second John. (1 John 2:18-19, 1 John 2:22, 1 John 4:3, 2 John 1:7) John tells us that in his time there were many antichrists and that anyone who denies Jesus came in the flesh is antichrist. John also informs us that it does not mean against Christ but in place of Christ, and on finding the true identity of the beast we find in fact that they have put themselves in place of Christ. Now read carefully in 1 John 2:18-19 who they were originally part of and that they (as in many people) went out on their own. Who are us and they in this verse? Here John speaks of the true origin and beginnings of the Biblical antichrist and they are not one person.

So where does all this talk of one man come from? Most would be shocked and find it hard to believe that the truth and answer to this question is that it originated from a Jesuit Priest from the Counter Reformation that came about from the Protestant Reformation. It was in fact manufactured prophecy written with the deliberate intent of deceiving Christians on the true identity of antichrist. It is absolutely staggering the amount of Christians that have no idea about these readably available facts and why this lie continues to be perpetuated with such ease much to the delight and intent of our adversary. There will be more detailed information on this later.

So while apocalyptic movies that portray the masses with the number 666 tattooed on their forehead sound fascinating and intriguing, that is all they are. Endless speculation exists on this topic because very few study the Word of God or related history to find out what it truly teaches.

The purpose of this highly detailed document is to identify exactly who the antichrist in the Bible is that enforces the apocalyptic mark of the beast so we can avoid it when the time comes. We are going to stick with the facts and avoid all the hazy speculation. The information on the following page may be shocking but nevertheless the details are directly from the Bible and history.
